What happens in book 8 of the odyssey?
Book 8 is called the Phaecian games. Odysseus had landed in the land of the Phaecians in book 7, and after staying a night, King Alcinous starts the games. Odysseus is insulted during the games by Euryalus and asked him to join in with the games, Odysseus did so and beat everyone. It ends with Alcinous asking Odysseus who he is – Odysseus does no tell him until the beginning of book 9.
