What happens in an acid-base titration?
A titration is used to determine the strength or concentration of a solution. One solution (either the acid or the base) is standardized, that is has a known concentration. This is added to a solution of the unknown containing a small amount of indicator solution. Indicators change color at a particular pH and the end point is when this color change is achieved. At the end point, the volume of the known acid or base is noted and used to calculate the concentration of the unknown.
