What happens in an Academic Services tutoring session?
In an individual tutoring session, the tutor and tutee discuss specific problems with a course, assignment, project, or the like. The tutor is able to address these concerns. If, for instance, the student is experiencing difficulty in calculus, our trained tutor would be able to explain the math in a way the student could understand based on his/her learning style. Our tutoring is intense and effective, and we work with students until comprehension is confidently achieved. This may require repetition and even the use of tutoring software programs. The tutor may also make suggestions about how the student’s note-taking skills or study habits could possibly improve in order to succeed academically.
