What happens in a Pilates mat class?
Mats, cushions, balls and other supports are all provided in a mat class. You should wear comfortable, close-fitting clothing and we work without shoes. Classes are small so we can offer feedback to help you find and maintain proper form and alignment to gain most benefit from your time with us. Most exercises are performed lying on the floor, either on your back, side or front. Talk to us if lying is painful to discuss other options. You are encouraged to internalize your thoughts, connecting with your body sensations. Movements are slow and controlled. You work at the natural rhythm of your breath. You should feel relaxed and energized after a class.
