What happens if you get caught using Limewire?
This question has been answered many times. If you are downloading copy written material, and you get a notification from the RIAA or you ISP, you can be fined. These fines can range form a couple of thousand dollars upwards to many thousands of dollars. How soon we forget the lady who lived somewhere on the east coast. She fought the fine, took the whole thing to court, and was then forced to pay the RIAA just a little over 220 thousand bucks. That’s $220,000.00 dollars. She appealed the decision and lost. By the way, this lady only had 12 songs in her upload folder. So it’s all up to you. Many people do this, but sooner or later all well be caught. So the real question is, is the music/videos that you are downloading worth what the fine will be.
