Water presents no problems for the tape. Motor oil, diluted acid and other chemicals, in time, will weaken the tape’s adhesive and/or laminate. If the spilled chemicals are wiped away within a reasonable amount of time, the tapes will remain affixed, and will not be adversely affected.
