What happens if u cross the us border and u dont have a passport?
if you screaming around and point a weapon, you might get killed if you legally try to cross the border, ever legitimate law enforcer will hold you back if you are an american and lost your pasport, you have to declare it on embassy, if you are prisoner, and brought to U.S for any reason at all, paper work will be done for you sometimes, nothing happened, and then you create fake id / steal someone identity, and live another life.
