To make an Infrared connection, usually the PDA or laptop tries to “discover‘ an IR access point. It is up to the Operating System of the PDA or laptop to decide what to do in this situation. Usually, if there are more than one IR access points being discovered, it is the first one that replied during the discovery phase that the PDA or laptop will be connected to.
