What happens if there is a second, summer/ autumn infestation?
A9.The rebate program is focused on helping farmers prepare for and treat locust infestations between 1 September 2010 and 31 May 2011 and allows eligible landholders to claim sufficient insecticide to treat their whole property once in this period. Under exceptional circumstances, where locust infestation is severe and a need is identified, applicants requiring rebates for the purchase of locust insecticides in excess of the maximum available may seek approval for an exemption from DPI.
