What happens if the VOLCANO KARAKATOA in Indonesia suddenly erupts again?
The original volcano Karakatoa basically disapeared in the major eruption of the 1800s. The volcano at the same location is known locally as Anak Krakatau (The son of Krakatau). The volcanic cone is continually growing and “erupts” on a regular basis I think that what you are asking is “what would happen if there was a repeat eruption of the scale of the last violant eruption”. Based on evidence and first hand reports from the last eruption there would be huge loss of life. Tsunamis would travel around the world with huge devastation around the Indian Ocean. Air travel in the region would be seriously disrupted with the possibility of loss of aircraft in flight. Ships would be lost as well. Look up past reports and then imagine what the effects would be now that there is a larger population and more shipping now than at that time.
