What happens if the Visa Gift card is lost or stolen?
Visa Gift cards are covered by Visa’s Zero Liability policy1, which protects the cardholder from fraudulent use of a lost or stolen card. Lost or stolen cards will be replaced with no penalty to the cardholder or your company. When the loss is discovered, the cardholder should immediately notify the provider that issued the card, and a replacement card will be issued containing the remaining balance at the time the card was reported missing.
The stolen card can be reported on our website through the Stolen Card menu option. A new gift card is issued with a re-issuance fee of $15 which will be deducted from the amount on the previous card. Additionally, the instructions to hotlist the stolen card shall be included with the card when it is sent to the recipient in India . This will include 24-hour hotline number where the recipient can quote the gift card reference number to deactivate the card immediately to prevent misuse.
