What happens if the student fails a second time?
Again the decision will be the culmination of a process whereby the students shortcomings have been discussed with the student and Practice Facilitator. Having had the opportunity to address their shortcomings, and having failed to demonstrate the required standard of practice the student will not be able to continue in practice. They will then be subject to an individual review within the Nursing and Midwifery department at UoW. Having failed twice in practice, the student may be recommended for withdrawal from the course.

Having had the opportunity to address their shortcomings, and having failed to demonstrate the required standard of practice the student will not be able to continue in practice. They will then be subject to an individual review within the Institute of Health and Social Care at UCW. Having failed twice in practice, the student may be recommended for withdrawal from the course. All appeals by students against withdrawal or discontinuation from the course are reviewed by the Professional Lead for Nursing.
