When a scholarship is awarded, funds are obligated (set aside) for the number of school years of support requested by the participant and agreed to by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, as indicated by the signed contract(s). If the participant did not sign contracts through the date of graduation, he/she will be given priority for continued funding when the existing scholarship support ends. Continuation funding will be subject to the availability of future funding and the continued existence of the NSP.
