What happens if the map is backordered?
We try to fill all orders from stock, but on occasion we are out of stock of a particular item. We will notify you of the stock status and an estimated delivery date. Supplies from Africa, Asia, and South America are irregular and sporadic. Travel maps are usually back in stock more quickly than topographic or thematic maps and backorders rarely exceed a month or so. We send map buyers to many countries each year to buy maps, and often new stock will not be available until after the next trip to a given country. For some countries, such as Nicaragua, Vietnam and China for example, delays may reach 6 months to a year.
