What happens if the laboratory reports a POSITIVE drug test result to the MRO?
In the event of a confirmed positive test, the MRO will contact the donor, seeking medical history or other relevant biomedical information in search of a possible legitimate explanation of a the positive result to determine if there is a legal reason for the presence of the substance in the donor’s urine. If there is no legal reason, the result will be reported to the employer as POSITIVE. The MRO will inform employees who test positive of split test options. If there is a verified legal reason for the presence of the substance in the donor’s urine, the result will be reported as NEGATIVE.
