No. If you have a number of hard drives with RAID groups configured on them and the FileZerver fails, it is possible to attach the hard drives to a new FileZerver unit without loss of data. Upon power up the FileZerver will recognize that the attached hard drives have been configured as a RAID group(s) and will automatically adapt to this information, providing the data as before.
