What happens if strep throat doesn get cured?
IF you have streptococcal bacterium in the throat and it isn’t cured, it could cause acute rheumatic fever which can then turn into rheumatic heart disease and damage the heart. Get checked and make sure this is not strep. Even if it is allergies or rhinitis which is what I have that causes my throat to hurt all the time here lately, it is better than damaging the heart. Only reason I know that I don’t have strep is because the doctor checked and I have also been on very strong amoxicillin for the last 10 days twice per day. Drainage from sinuses can also cause the throat to hurt but you would rather know than think and damage something. Hope this helps.
