What happens if someone employed on the award is on long-term sick leave? Will the MRC pay for the replacement?
The MRC will consider a replacement only if the sick leave has exceeded three months, unless the person on sick leave is disabled for the purposes of the Disability Discrimination Act, then a shorter period could be discussed. Contact your regional contact within AMT for advice on this issue. If the request falls within the RC terms and conditions the costs can be claimed as an exceptional item on the final statement of expenditure at the end of the award.
