What happens if people make false complaints to the Council?
A. EHOs have considerable experience of handling complaints on a wide range of issues and will use their professional judgement in all instances. All valid complaints will be followed up by EHOs, who will decide on the appropriate level of enforcement action to be taken. If employers can demonstrate that they have taken all reasonable precautions to comply with the law, they have nothing to fear from bogus calls.
