FEMA is making every effort to assist individuals and families to find long term housing to fulfill their needs. Every resident should have a hand-delivered notice to vacate their unit on May 1, 2009. On May 16, the same letter will be mailed to each trailer occupant. Those who do not vacate their housing unit by May 30, 2009 will be referred to the Department of Justice. The Department of Justice will contact federal courts to secure court orders to allow FEMA to repossess the units.
