What happens if I use the 2009 WPFG Firearms Registration and then decide to stay in Canada for a different competition?
If you are in possession of any prohibited item, regulated object, or firearm, it must be stored in the 2009 WPFG armory or exported. It cannot be used in any other Canadian competition other than the 2009 WPFG. If you are planning on staying in Canada to hunt or participate in another competition and are in possession of non-restricted firearms you can use the Non-Resident Firearm Declaration Form (form CAFC 909) that was completed upon your entry to Canada which acts as a temporary firearms license and is valid for two months. With this temporary firearms license you will be able to transport the firearm in an approved manner. Bear in mind that non-Canadian residents must have an appropriate hunting license and be accompanied by a registered guide if they intend to hunt in Canada. If you are planning on staying in Canada to participate in another competition and are in possession of restricted firearms, it is best to use the normal importation process as found on the Canada Border Se
