What happens if I sign the Travelers Cheques in the wrong place or if my signatures don match?
Acceptance of Travelers Cheques, and Gift Cheques is based on the merchant watching the customer sign the Cheque in the lower left corner, and then comparing that signature with the original signature in the upper left corner. The merchant will observe the customer signing the Cheque. If the signatures are a reasonable match, the Cheque would be accepted. As always, if the merchant is unsure, they would call the issuer with any concerns. However the issuer reserves the right to delay refunds during investigation of the loss or theft and will not be liable for any loss or expense caused by such delay. In addition, your cheques will not be refunded by the issuer if they have been seized or confiscated by the state, government, customs, revenue, police, military or other such officials or personnel.
