What happens if I shop at a MasterCard SecureCode merchant website while Im not registered for this feature?
You will be prompted for online registration for MasterCard SecureCode through a registration screen. You would need to authenticate yourself with your Debit/Credit Card number, CVC2 number and card expiry date along with either Credit Card ATM PIN or your date of birth in case of Credit cards and only Debit Card ATM pin in case of Debit cards. You can choose your password to be used for MasterCard SecureCode. Thereafter, you can continue shopping on the merchant website. In case of Credit cards, if you decide not to register immediately and cancel the registration screen your transaction will not get authenticated but you would still be able to complete the transaction on such websites. Only 5 such transactions will be allowed post which your transactions will be declined.For non-participating MasterCard® SecureCode™ merchants , you may continue to make internet payments till such time the merchant enrols for the same. In case of Debit cards, If you decide not to register immediately
