What happens if I miss the SJC April 1 priority application date?
If you miss the priority date, you may not receive some awards you may have otherwise been eligible to recieve. In addition, your award determination may be delayed and it may not be ready by the start of a semester. San Juan College receives a limited amount of funds to award, and they are awarded first to eligible students who meet the priority date. If you are eligible for a Pell Grant, work study or Stafford Loans, you receive those funds even if you miss the priority date. Although financial aid applications are processed throughout the year, the process can take several weeks, including certifications of loans. Late arriving applications will result in delays. Funds may not be availble to hold students in classes or buy textbooks. Always apply early.
