What happens if i havent had my children their pre school injections?
Check what immunizations are mandatory for the school district you are in. There are an absolute mass of shots that kids get from birth to age 4, but the ones that are required for entry to school vary depending on school policy. Also, ask about any that you can opt out of by signing a waiver if you object to immunization for personal, moral or religious grounds. Sometimes that is possible. Bear in mind though, that if your kids haven’t been to school before, once they get there they will be exposed to a lot of new kids, and a lot of new chances to get kiddie illnesses passed on. That’s why schools strongly encourage vaccinations. And you’re not a bad mum at all. IMO you’ve probably done the best thing if your kids haven’t been ill, because you’ve given them a naturally robust immune system.
If you don’t have your children injected with the important shots, my understanding is that if there’s an outbreak of something at the school, they can ask that your child NOT come, to avoid infection and passing it on. You’re not a bad mum; you just didn’t know. For your children’s safety, ask the doctor what they should have and then get the shots. Mums can’t always catch everything!!
I don’t have children, but i do know that you don’t “have” to do anyting. Personally i’m not a big fan of vaccinations, and being a military brat, and soon active duty, i have had and will have many more of them. It’s your right as a parent to refuse such thing for your children. It doesn’t make you a bad parent that you didn’t know about it though. Ignorant maybe, but that is forgivable since everyone is ignorant of at least something.lol.
They won’t be allowed to go to school until they have their shots. It isn’t too late to get them. Don’t feel bad, we all have things slip our minds. Just call the doctor and get them in to have their shots updated. Oh, and don’t forget to get a copy of the shot records. They will probably want that at school.
Every parents should concern about the quality of school and education for their children. Do not think it will be easy for children to enter the new world. It’s rather difficult for them to know many new people, new environment, and new friends. They sometimes cry and scream when they’re in school and they feel uncomfortable with new situation that they should adapt with. Thus, it needs special preparation for them, in education/emotional side of them. For example: teach them about letters, shapes, colors, or calculation. Those are basic for entering schooling world.
