What happens if i dont show up for my ship date at meps?
I’m amazed at how many people answered that question and didn’t have the slightest clue of the real truth. The truth is if you swore in the first time and didn’t go in, absolutely nothing happens. The government doesn’t keep a record of it in any way. In fact i did it and later decided to join and nobody said a word. Be real sure you want to go before you go, if you decide later you really want to go then go. Never let anyone tell you what to do with your life.
They won’t bother to sue you for breach of contract, but if you are on DEP, you will be in a world of hurt. It all comes down to swearing in. It doesn’t matter what happens up to that point, you can always get out of it. If you have raised your right hand and swore to support and defend the constitution, then they will arrest you for missing movement. Don’t let this happen.
