What happens if I don pay a debt won in small claims court?
depending on what state u live in, the courts can garnish your wages…and it probably is on ur credit report already…i would make amends now and possibly you can work with the collections agency and explain you never received anything on it…sometimes they will remove things from your credit report….
The collection agency basically has all the same options they normally do to collect debts, even if it’s small claims. They can put it on your credit report (probably have by now), garnish your wages, send the sheriff to seize your property, etc. They cannot put you in jail, since it’s a civil matter.
