What happens if I do not obtain an epc for my property?

0

For existing properties, a copy of an epc can be requested at any time up to 6 months after the last day it should have been provided to the buyer/tenant and must be provided within 7 days of the request. The financial penalty or failure to comply is 12.5% of the rateable value of the premises between a minimum of £500 and maximum of £5000. For new build, a completion certificate cannot be issued by building control unless the developer has a valid epc.
