BSMS will perform a blood test to prove that you are negative for Hepatitis B surface antigen. If on arrival you have not had sufficient time to be immunised or if you have only managed to part-complete a course of immunisations you will not be permitted the opportunity to undertake Exposure Prone Procedures (EPPs) until you can demonstrate immunity. Hepatitis C and HIV OH screens all new medical students for the Hepatitis C and HIV viruses. You will need to arrange this blood test with your GP, or if already working in the NHS, your current Occupational Health service.
