What happens if I buy a resale property and the previous owner ran up debts against it?
When you buy a resale property in Turkey, it is important to have the property checked for outstanding debts by the solicitor. If there are debts outstanding against the property they will be logged at the Title Deeds office. If there is any problem with the property, the solicitor will advise you not to proceed with the sale, and the seller will be required to pay you a penalty fee which is written into the Sales Contract.
