A6. EPA may provide applicants a limited opportunity to clarify site eligibility issues during the proposal application process. If EPA has reason to believe a site that falls in the “excluded” category is eligible for a property-specific funding determination, EPA may seek clarification. EPA strongly encourages applicants to evaluate their site against the information provided in Appendix 4 of the guidelines. In addition, applicants should contact their Regional Brownfields Coordinators for pre-application assistance on site eligibility. Applicants may not substitute sites if EPA determines a site is not eligible.
