What happens if GoldMine isn active when a connection needs to be made?
If GoldMine is not active on a given machine, GoldExchange will attempt to start GoldMine in silent mode when it needs access to perform certain functions (see the answer to question 3 above). GoldMine’s silent mode doesn’t require a user/password to logon, and doesn’t create a security exposure because only applications can communicate with GoldMine through its interface. When operating in silent mode, the GoldMine icon is present on the System Tray (usually on the bottom right corner of your monitor, along with the time). GoldExchange uses the registry to determine where GoldMine has been installed when starting GoldMine in silent mode. In a network configuration, you may need to change this setting in the registry to point GoldExchange (and any other GoldMine application) to the proper version of GoldMine for activation.
