What happens if forms are submitted late — after the allotted 72 hours?

0

Nursing facilities should be aware that failure to submit Forms 3618 and 3619 admission and discharges within 72 hours may delay either their own claims payment or that of another nursing facility that may be trying to admit the resident. Nursing facilities who fail to timely submit Form 3618 discharges may also be delaying residents from receiving their state SSI supplement check at another nursing facility because the mailing of these funds to the resident is dependent on timely and correct submission of Form 3618 discharges. Nursing facilities that do not timely submit Form 3618 discharges may be subject to sanction under Section J of their Contract to Provide Nursing Facility Services Under the Texas Medical Assistance Program.
