What happens if for some reason I didn do the event I was using Justgiving to collect sponsors for?
You should contact Justgiving at help@justgiving.com and give them your page address and they will take it down and not seek payment from those who had offered a pledge. Please be aware that sponsors who opted to donate rather than pledge will already have had their cards debited and these are normally non-refundable transactions.
