In general, endo is a progressive disease so for many it will get worse. The longer it goes untreated the better the chances are of it causing infertitity and spreading to other areas of the body as well as adhesions being created. That being said, it does vary. Some women seem to have endo that is more agressive than others so it will grow more quickly. Estrogen is what fuels endo so in essence, the more estrogen a women has, the better the chances are for the endo to grow, and possibly grow faster. One thing to remember, the extint of the endo does not correlate to the amount of pain a person will experience. Most women seek treatment when their pain gets bad enough or if they are unable to conceive. I’m not saying that is a bad thing but it is important to remember that the endo can be growing and spreading but not causing you much, if any, pain.
