What happens if candidates make a mistake transferring their answers onto the answer sheet or if they run out of time and do not do this?
A. Multiple-choice answers are automatically scanned against an answer key, so if a candidate lozenges the wrong letter their response is marked as wrong. Productive responses (Parts 6 to 9) are marked by teams of trained markers. If it is obvious that a candidate has put the answers to one part in another section of the answer sheet, they can give credit for correct answers. Exam invigilators give instructions regarding the transfer of answers at the beginning of an exam and in the final 10 minutes, so all candidates should be aware of the necessity to complete the answer sheets. Missing responses are marked in the same way as wrong answers.
