A. We are working on the basis that it will succeed! If our application is unsuccessful at first we will be allowed to revise it and bring it back in later waves of applications for Foundation status. The Department of Health has not been clear about what might happen to hospitals who do not successfully achieve Foundation Status by the desired deadline of 2008/09. However there has been speculation that such hospitals might be taken over by other Foundation Trusts.
