Upon detection of a virus, the backup process continues and ARCserveIT sends an alert notification, and executes a user-defined procedure to skip, rename or move the file without stopping the backup process, files that have been detected as being infected can be later cured. If detected, virus cure can be achieved using anti-virus software such as InoculateIT.
