What happens if a WisCORS base station goes offline during my survey?
If the station that goes offline is not the nearest physical base station to the location of your WisCORS survey, you should not see any effect. The network will be able to cover for the loss of the base station without any perceptible loss in accuracy, but continue to perform checks on a routine basis. If the station that goes offline is the nearest physical base station to the location of your WisCORS survey goes off-line, the following scenario will probably occur: First, you will get a message that you have lost initialization, and then, you will very quickly regain initialization. Your survey vectors will now be attached to the next nearest WisCORS base station (see next question). You can continue your survey without a loss of accuracy or precision as the rest of the network will compensate for the loss of a single base station, but continue to perform checks on a routine basis. If the nearest station comes back online during your survey, there will be a more noticeable effect. I
