What happens if a vehicle is driven without a valid drivers or operators licence?
If the vehicle is being driven with an incorrect driver’s licence, the driver will be informed by the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) examiner that their licence does not allow them to drive that type of vehicle, and they will be liable for prosecution. If the vehicle is being used with no operator’s licence and one is required for its use, both the driver and the operator will be liable for prosecution.
