What happens if a site is considering dose escalation?

0

A centre may wish to dose escalate during the course of the trial if further planning or treatment equipment becomes available or if techniques evolve. A centre is at liberty to escalate prescribed dose to the ICRU point by 4 Gy (that is to the next incremental step, if not already on 78Gy). Before dose escalating, the site is required to contact the RADAR Central Trials Office who will consult with the Technical Advisory Committee (TACT) to establish whether technical reviews performed by the Technical Working Group (TWG) see any problems in undertaking dose escalation. Further dosimetric submission may be required by TACT.
