What happens if a provider doesn’t report a critical incident, or is later than the 72 hrs?
A. Since the requirement for CIR comes from Medicaid (CMS), and we are required to comply, the provider could be found to be out of compliance. The core reasons for CIRs are communication, to know how people served are doing, and to assure that people receiving services in our communities are as safe and healthy as possible.
