What happens if a Morgan Crucible shareholder dies?
The deceased’s appointed legal representative should produce a Grant of Probate (Confirmation in Scotland) or Letters of Administration, impressed with the seal of a Court, to the Registrar. The name of the legal personal representative can then be put onto the share register. If the shares were held jointly, the Registrar will remove the deceased’s name from the register once they received a copy of the death certificate. However, in the event of the value of the estate being less than £5,000, a small estates procedure may be adopted which incurs less expense.
