What happens if a hospital misses the submission deadline?
The Department will be monitoring the submission of summary cost and payment information and following up with hospitals. We realize hospitals have different arrangements for information technology (IT) support and that not all hospitals may be able to adhere exactly to the timeline. Since Minnesota will be negotiating a contract with an independent auditor, we will be committed to having the audit performed in the agreed upon timeframe. The Department will forward the independent auditors report to CMS. The Department does not know what CMS will do once they receive the audit report.
