What happens if a flatmate leaves the flat?
The flatmate who leaves can have a date of departure recorded against their name, which means they don’t have to pay any subsequent shared expenses. If this flatmate has an outstanding balance it is recommended that one of the other flatmates takes on this balance in the form of a transfer and the pays the same amount to the leaving flatmate (or collects if the leaving flatmate is in debit).
