Radiation treatment is supervised by a specialist called an Oncologist. What tests will the Endocrinologist do? • Blood tests can detect whether the pituitary gland is manufacturing enough hormones. If any hormones are lacking, it is best to start treatment with hormone tablets as soon as possible. • Complete Pituitary Function tests to assess all the major pituitary hormones. • Water deprivation test may be required if you are passing much urine and are thirsty. • An eye test (Visual field test) is used to determine whether there is any pressure on the nerves controlling vision.
