What happens if a candidate doesn’t understand the story in Part 2?
A. We recognise that a formal language test may be a new experience for many of our candidates, so we expect examiners to be supportive and give every opportunity for candidates to complete the tasks. If a candidate doesn’t understand the story after the examiner has provided an introduction and explained the scenario then the examiner will point to the individual scenes in the story one by one and ask questions about them and, in this way, gradually elicit a candidate response.
