What happens during the training session?
Neurofeedback is a painless, non-invasive, non-medical procedure. During each training session, electrodes are placed on the ear and on the head at different locations. The brain waves, or electrical activity of the brain, are displayed on the computer screen. There is a bright yellow column to the left of the brain wave display. The yellow column gives information about the brain wave during training. This is the column you want to pay attention to. A pointer is placed at a specific point along the scale of the yellow column indicating a healthy brain wave frequency. When the yellow column stays below that pointer for a half second, a bell rings and a number is added to the reward count at the top of the screen. The green column monitors the brain activity displayed in the center of the computer screen.
