School Bus Driver Certification requirements include: • A current, physical Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) which requires the passing of 4 state motor vehicle tests on Airbrakes, General Knowledge, Passengers, and School Buses. This is required to begin training. • 42 hours of pre-service training which includes: • 22 hours of classroom instruction • 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction • 2 hours of observation time • 6 hours of a First Aid class to include CPR • 6 hours of a Defensive Driving Course + Plus • 16 hours of in-service time in the classroom and/or behind-the-wheel instruction under the supervision of an approved school bus driver instructor each year. • New Mexico Motor Vehicle Division Check Of The Applicant’s Driving Record • A Criminal Background Check (Local and FBI checks, which includes finger-printing) • Pre-Employment Drug And Alcohol Test

We make every effort to keep you out of harms way, however, we understand you came to us to Get in Shape, so we make sure we do just that. If the conditions are dangerous, class will be rescheduled, otherwise make every arrangement to attend class.
