What Happens During Full Tummy Tuck Surgery?
In a full abdominoplasty or abdominal reduction, the skin of the whole of the abdominal wall is tightened including all the skin between the umbilicus and the eventual low abdominal scar. In full tummy tuck surgery, the remaining skin is pulled down and stitched at the lower level with the old umbilicus of the tummy button brought through this skin flap at the appropriate level.
